Learn how to store and retrieve your cryptocurrency private keys

Welcome to Q-Ledger - a quantum-safe private key storage app that uses blockchain technology to permanently store your cryptocurrency wallets, seed phrases, and digital secrets.

1. Getting Started

First Launch

When you first open Q-Ledger, the app performs automatic setup (2-3 seconds):

  • Generates your quantum-safe X-Wing encryption key pair
  • Stores keys securely in iOS Keychain
  • Creates your unique user identifier
  • Syncs keys to iCloud Keychain (if enabled)

Store Your First Wallet

Tap the + button

Located in the top-right corner of the Wallets tab

Enter your private key

Type, paste, scan QR code, or select a file. Auto-detect identifies the format.

Name your wallet

Give it a memorable name (e.g., "Main ETH Wallet")

Tap "Store on Arweave"

Your key is encrypted on-device and uploaded to Arweave

Wait for confirmation

Upload takes 5-30 seconds. Full confirmation takes 20-30 minutes.

2. Understanding the App Interface

Toolbar

  • $ button (left): Opens the Store to purchase wallet bundles or Pro upgrade
  • + button (right): Add a new wallet (on Wallets tab)

Wallets Tab

Each wallet card displays:

  • Wallet name (e.g., "Main ETH Wallet")
  • Key format (e.g., "Seed Phrase (12 words)")
  • Creation date
  • Status indicator with Arweave confirmations

Status Indicators

Green: Storage Confirmed (16+ confirmations) - Permanently stored
Orange: Pending (0-15 confirmations) - Being replicated
Red: Failed - Transaction not found or error

Retrieving Your Keys

  1. Tap on any wallet card to open wallet details
  2. Tap "Retrieve Key"
  3. Authenticate with Face ID / Touch ID
  4. View your key in text mode or as QR code

Export options: Copy to clipboard, share file, save QR code image

4. Pro Features ($7.99)

  • Platform-independent recovery: Use GitHub scripts to decrypt on any platform
  • Dual encryption: X-Wing + ML-KEM-768 for extra quantum resistance
  • Export/import keys: Back up your Q-Ledger encryption keys
  • 20% discount: On all wallet bundle purchases

Important: Wallets stored with Standard cannot be retrieved using external tools later. Upgrade to Pro before storing critical wallets if you want platform independence.

5. Security & Privacy

Quantum-Safe Encryption

Q-Ledger uses X-Wing ML-KEM-768, a quantum-resistant algorithm built into iOS 26. Your keys are encrypted on-device before leaving your iPhone. Q-Ledger never sees your private keys.

Arweave Permanent Storage

Encrypted data is stored on Arweave's decentralized network across thousands of global nodes. Data is designed to persist for 200+ years and remains accessible even if Q-Ledger shuts down.

Transaction Confirmations

  • 0-15 confirmations: Pending (being replicated)
  • 16+ confirmations: Confirmed (required for permanence)
  • Typical time: 20-30 minutes for full confirmation

iCloud Keychain Sync

Your encryption keys sync automatically across your Apple devices via iCloud Keychain. Sign into a new iPhone with the same Apple ID and your wallets become accessible immediately.
